Think of One (BE)

Think Of One is a Belgian multi-award-winning trio from Antwerp consisting of David Bovée (guitar, vocals), Tomas Desmet (bass) and Roel Porriau (drums, keyboards) with vocals . Together they create colourful music infused with musical genres from different parts of the world like jazz, latin, funk and many more, but at times people also called it Stonersamba, Shabidub, experimental Spacejazz, Sambareggae, Robotic Maracatu or Psychedelic Deathcore. Go figure!

The band originated in Antwerp, a multicultural hub with important Morroccan, Turkish, African etc communiites. Infectious grooves blasting from carspeakers in the streets already fascinated them from early on. Throughout their career they formed strong bonds, living together in one big house and even a trailer camp. They got to travel the world, met and collaborated with great musicians from whom they learned about many musical genres. One of their projects was 'Marrakech Emballages Ensemble' which is a collaboration with Moroccan musicians and singers, while their Tráfico album featured collaborations with Brazilian musicians and voices. They even did a live project with Inuit Nunavik Throat Singers. Their output that blended musical styles secured them a BBC Award in 2004 for ‘Best Cross-Cultural Collaboration’. At a certain point he trio pressed the pause button, David emigrated to Brasil but when he came back to Belgium, they decided to get back together and have fun and play like in 'the old days'. There was no doubt that the chemistry was still there and the music as good as before, so they decided to record again. Their first piece of music they made after their comeback was the single ‘Goe voor mij'. The second single of 2025 is a bit more straight forward and accessible, presenting a Lou Reed-like song that's small and endearing, with a production that fits into the indielandscape of Belgium perfectly. The single is part of a releaserun that builds towards the release of their newest album, which was born out of pure inspiration and motivation, after lead singer David Bovée returned to Belgium after living in Brazil a session musician.
