Moonloops is the mind of singer-songwriter Sarah Dekker. Armed with a beaten-up guitar and an old MacBook she started recording and producing her own songs in her bedroom back in 2020. With almost 10,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Moonloops has outgrown the bedroom and is ready to share her stories with the world. Along with a nationwide tour, she released her first studio album "Little Astronaut, Big Dreams" in January 2024. This album explores themes like home, loneliness, misunderstanding, and love with magical songs that keep haunting you. Moonloops also played at notable festivals such as Oerol, Bevrijdingsfestival and ESNS, and was selected for Popronde X OOR talent in 2023. After the release of her debut album, Dekker reflected on the past couple of years with her EP ‘an inch left to go’ in October 2024. The record is an homage to her DIY roots, and shows her growth as a young adult and musician. As of 2025, it’s been 5 years since Moonloops’ debut, a bedroom project called ‘Ghost’. With 2024 being a year full of new music, fans have repeatedly asked how ‘Ghost’ would sound with Moonloops’ current spacey sound and life experience. For the record’s 5th anniversary, Moonloops and producer Bo Boer set out to recreate the record, to really capture the essence of the songs, and reinterpret them with Moonloops’ signature spacey, nostalgic sound. ‘Ghost’ captures the essence of loneliness, of trying to find a place, person or house that feels like home. The title track will be released on May 23rd, a familiar song with a richer, more vibrant sound, celebrating the past 5 years of Moonloops career. ‘Ghost (2025)’ - the record - releases exactly 5 years after its initial release, on July 31st, along with 3 bonus tracks and a limited edition vinyl.
