Patches

Patches crafts wistful pop, painted with careful brushstrokes, balancing between melancholy, innocence, and sensuality. It is in that hazy landscape that she whispers her story directly into your ear. The immediate trigger for the album Pickery Performance was a deep personal crisis.

With influences ranging from Dido, Lana Del Rey, and PJ Harvey to Tolstoy, Pushkin, and European Romanticism (with a capital R), the songs initially sound like echoes from an alternative shadow world of courtesans and muses, over-romanticized reflections on both personal and collective memory. They turn out to be waystations in a growth process: youthful naivety gets a 'reality check' and makes way for a cautious belief in the future. Meanwhile, Patches is evolving towards a more organic – read: less electronic – sound.
