Pop noir
Leah Rye (NL)
Leah Rye is a Dutch singer-songwriter, known for building surreal worlds with her dark pop noir style.
She taught herself piano at a young age and began writing songs by fifteen as a way to understand the world and express her emotions. This search for balance, between light and dark remains at the heart of her music. Her dreamy sound floats somewhere between pop noir and electronica, drawing inspiration from artists like Radiohead, Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, Bon Iver, and Massive Attack. With her debut album Symbiosis (2023), Leah reached a wider audience. She performed at festivals such as Wildeburg, Motel Mozaique, Rapunzel (hosted by Bas Kennis of Bløf), and Grasnapolsky, and earned airplay and live sessions on Dutch radio stations including 3FM and NPO Radio 2. Her music also caught the attention of Rob Stenders on Radio Veronica. Leah sold out club shows at venues like Paradiso, Patronaat, and Tivoli, and supported acts such as Blaudzun and The Veils on their European tours. Her upcoming album, Room of Disbelief (October 31st), opens the door to an inner space shaped by doubt, insecurity, and self-criticism. It’s an intimate, honest, and hypnotic record, with a more organic and minimalist sound that brings her closer to herself than ever. The release will be followed by a club tour in November, with shows at venues including Paradiso and Ekko. Leading up to the album, Leah played a sold-out show at A’DAM Toren in 2024 and a fully sold-out Secret Tour in April 2025, including a performance hosted by Peter Slager of Bløf.
